Once your permanent crown is ready, you return to the office for the second stage of your dental crown placement. First, your dentist removes the temporary crown, examines and cleans your tooth, and tests the dental crown to make sure it fits. 

Then, your dentist places the crown over your tooth and cements it in place for a secure fit. With good care, your dental crown may last up to 15 years.
